Personal Protection 301: DEFENDING YOURSELF OUTSIDE YOUR HOME!

In Maryland it's called "Wear and Carry".  Other states call it "concealed carry or CCW".  Regardless of the label, this is the course you will need if you are serious about defending yourself outside your home.

This course is a 16-Hour LIVE Class That Focuses On The Use of Firearms In the Defense of Your Person, outside Your Home.  It Fulfills the Maryland State Police Requirement To Obtain a Maryland "Wear and Carry" Permit (required to carry a firearm in Maryland) as well as providing credentials for CCW in Washington, D.C., Virginia, and 40 other states.

During the LIVE class, you will be provided a current list of states that recognize this training,.

You will also obtain a certificate of completion for the NRA CCW Course, which may be used for concealed carry in almost every state in the United States.

 

This class will be taught at a state-approved private facility near Bowie State University (BSU) which follows the state of Maryland, Prince George's County, as well as Federal Government (CDC) COVID-19 guidelines for live classroom instruction.

This facility is an indoor classroom (Face mask required) and an outdoor shooting range at the same location.  Please dress appropriately.  Masks are also required on the range.

 

​Participants will receive the necessary instruction and certification to apply for a Maryland Handgun Qualification Licenses (HQL) required to possess a firearm in the State of Maryland.

  • Requirements to qualify for a Maryland Handgun (Wear and Carry) Permit: 
    Must be at least 21 years old.
    Has not been convicted of a felony or of a crime punishable by imprisonment for more than one year.
    Has not been committed within the previous 10 years to any juvenile detention center for longer than one year. 
    Is not an addict or alcoholic nor has ever been convicted of an offense that involves the possession or distribution of a controlled substance. 
    Has not, based on the results of an investigation, exhibited a propensity for violence or instability.
    Must show good cause as to why you need a firearm.Has completed a firearms training course.
